한국과 독일의 수교 140주년을 기념해, 한·독 현대미술 교류전 《베를린에서 서울로: 지평선 너머(From Berlin to Seoul: Crossing Horizons)》를 개최합니다. 이번 전시는 독일 쾰른과 서울 삼청동에 소재한 초이앤초이 갤러리, 독일 베를린에 위치한 베르멜 폰 룩스부르크 갤러리, 서울 청담동의 호리아트스페이스와 아이프아트매니지먼트 등 4곳이 공동으로 주최합니다.
평면과 입체, 설치 등 다양한 장르의 미술가 16인이 참여하는 이번 전시는 지난해 베를린에서 열린 《베를린, 서울을 만나다(Berlin meets Seoul)》 단체전의 연장선이기도 하며, 삼청동 초이앤초이 갤러리와 청담동 호리아트스페이스 및 아이프라운지 3곳에서 83점을 동시에 선보입니다. 두 나라의 현대미술가들이 서로 다른 작가적 정체성을 어떻게 확립해 나가는지 확인할 수 있는 뜻깊은 자리가 되리라 기대합니다.
To commemorate the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Germany, the Korea-Germany contemporary art exchange exhibition From Berlin to Seoul: Crossing Horizons will be held.
This exhibition is co-organized by four institutions: Choi&Choi Gallery (based in Cologne, Germany and Samcheong-dong, Seoul), Bermel von Luxburg Gallery in Berlin, HORI ART SPACE in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul, and IP Art Management.
Featuring 16 artists working across a range of media including painting, sculpture, and installation, the exhibition is an extension of last year’s group show Berlin meets Seoul held in Berlin. A total of 83 works will be presented simultaneously across three venues in Seoul: Choi&Choi Gallery in Samcheong-dong, and HORI ART SPACE and IP Lounge in Cheongdam-dong. The exhibition offers a meaningful opportunity to witness how contemporary artists from both countries continue to shape and assert their individual artistic identities.
