김은미
김은미(Kim Eunmi, b.1988)는 단국대학교에서 서양화를 전공하고 홍익대학교 일반대학원에서 석사와 박사과정을 마쳤다. 작가는 일상 속 건축적 요소와 도시 풍경을 낯설게 전환하는 태도에서 출발하여, 비행기·도자기·기계 등 구체적 대상을 건축물처럼 변형하고 재구성해 새로운 도시적 공간을 구축하는 작업을 이어왔다. 최근에는 스티커에 주목하여 이미지 위에 이미지가 겹쳐지고 생각의 흔적이 쌓이며 만들어지는 밀도와 관계를 회화로 탐구하고 있다. 《Floating Island》(63아트미술관, 서울, 2019), 《Zoom in Zoom out》(아르세갤러리, 서울, 2018), 《Oasis》(김리아갤러리, 서울, 2016), 《Sprinkle the joy》(당림미술관, 아산, 2012) 등에서 개인전을 개최하였다. 고양시립 아람미술관(고양, 2023), Jeeum(홍콩, 2022), SHOUT(홍콩, 2021), 갤러리이배(부산, 2019), 예술의전당 한가람 디자인미술관(서울, 2018), 홍익대학교 현대미술관(서울, 2018), DDP(서울, 2018) 등 국내외 주요 미술관 및 전시기관에서 열린 다수의 그룹전에 참여하였다. 작품은 국립현대미술관 미술은행(2019, 2020), 삼성카드 본사, SK그룹, 더 코발트 스카이 및 국내외 개인 컬렉션에 소장되어 있다.
Kim Eunmi (b. 1988) majored in Western painting at Dankook University and completed her M.F.A. and doctoral coursework at Hongik University. Beginning from an approach that defamiliarizes architectural elements and urban landscapes encountered in everyday life, she has transformed concrete objects — airplanes, ceramics, machinery — into building-like forms, reconstructing them into new urban spatial compositions. More recently, she has turned her attention to stickers, exploring through painting the density and relationships that emerge as images accumulate upon images and traces of thought layer over one another. She has held solo exhibitions including Floating Island (63 Art Museum, Seoul, 2019), Zoom in Zoom out (Arce Gallery, Seoul, 2018), Oasis (Galerie Bhak, Seoul, 2016), and Sprinkle the Joy (Dangrim Art Museum, Asan, 2012). She has participated in numerous group exhibitions at institutions in Korea and abroad, including Aram Art Gallery, Goyang Aram Nuri Arts Center (Goyang, 2023), Jeeum (Hong Kong, 2022), SHOUT (Hong Kong, 2021), Gallery Bae (Busan, 2019), Hangaram Design Museum, Seoul Arts Center (Seoul, 2018), Hongik University Contemporary Art Museum (Seoul, 2018), and DDP (Seoul, 2018). Her works are held in the collections of the MMCA Art Bank (2019, 2020), Samsung Card headquarters, SK Group, The Cobalt Sky, and private collections in Korea and abroad.
