PHILIP GRÖZINGER
필립 그뢰징어
필립 그뢰징어(1972~)는 독일의 구동독 브라운슈바이그 시(市)에서 출생했고, 1990~1998년까지 브라운슈바이그의 예술아카데미에서 순수미술을 전공했다. 1998년 니더작센(Niedersachsen) 주(州)의 장학금을 수여 받았으며, 2015~2017년까지 베를린 바이센제(Weissensee) 예술대학의 회화과 강사를 역임했다. 2022년 7월 아시아 첫 개인전 ‘WHY SO SERIOUS?’를 서울의 초이앤초이갤러리ㆍ호리아트스페이스ㆍ아이프라운지 세 곳에서 동시에 개최한 것을 비롯해, 독일 밤베르크시립미술관은 물론, 베를린ㆍ뮌헨ㆍ함부르크ㆍ파리ㆍ코펜하겐 등에서 정기적으로 초대 개인전을 가졌다. 이외에 독일 라이프찌히현대미술관ㆍ바이덴시립미술관ㆍ압타이 리스본미술관 등의 주요 기획전에 참여했다. 특히 2022년 미술계의 권위 있는 출판사에서 ‘독일의 81인 회화작가’를 다룬 『Dissonance』라는 책에 소개되어, 베를린 베타니엔하우스의 기념전에 초대되었다. 그의 작품은 베를린시립미술관을 비롯해 여러 곳의 주요 미술관ㆍ기관ㆍ개인컬렉션 등에 소장되었으며, 현재는 독일 베를린에 거주하며 작품 활동 중이다.
Philip Grözinger (b. 1972) was born in Braunschweig, in what was then East Germany. From 1990 to 1998, he studied Fine Arts at the Academy of Arts in Braunschweig. In 1998, he was awarded a scholarship from the state of Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen), and from 2015 to 2017 he served as a lecturer in the Painting Department at the Weissensee Academy of Art Berlin. In July 2022, he held his first solo exhibition in Asia, WHY SO SERIOUS?, simultaneously across three venues in Seoul — Choi & Choi Gallery, Hori Art Space, and Eye Lounge. He has also been regularly invited for solo exhibitions at the Bamberg Municipal Art Museum, as well as in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Paris, and Copenhagen, among others. Additionally, he has participated in major curated exhibitions at institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Art Leipzig, the Weiden Municipal Museum, and the Abadia Lisbon Art Museum. Notably, in 2022 he was featured in Dissonance, a publication by one of the art world's most respected publishers presenting 81 painters from Germany, and was subsequently invited to a commemorative exhibition at Bethanien House in Berlin. His works are held in the collections of the Berlin Municipal Museum, as well as numerous other major museums, institutions, and private collections. He currently lives and works in Berlin.
