CHOI JAY
최제이
최제이(Jay, Choi b.1975)는 홍익대학교 미술대학 판화과를 졸업하고 동대학원에서 석사학위를 받았다. 작가는 바람이 멈춘 고요함 속에서 스스로를 바라보는 시선을 담아내며 무의식적인 붓질 속에서 길어낸 감정의 결들을 한 화면에 응축한다. 2007년 1회 개인전을 시작으로 갤러리 아트사이드, 가나아트스페이스, 수호갤러리, 갤러리 헤세드 등 13회의 개인전을 개최하고 60여 회 이상 단체전 및 기획전에 참여한 바 있다. 작품은 국립현대미술관 정부미술은행(서울), 국립현대미술관 미술은행(서울), 경기미술재단, 수호갤러리, 쉐라톤 워커힐 애쉬톤(서울), 신협중앙회연수원(천안), Sakimi Art museum(오키나와, 일본) 등 국내외 기관 및 개인 컬렉션에 소장되어 있다.
Lim Heejo (b. 1988) majored in Western painting at the College of Fine Arts and the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Dongguk University. Lim Heejo's work is built on a visual order created by the push and pull of colors and shapes. The colors that seem to mesh together but are actually mismatched, and the composition that seems unintentional but maintains the balance of the canvas, capture the feeling of “growing into happiness.” He held solo exhibitions at Gallery Arirang(Busan, 2022) and CL Gallery (Seoul, 2021) with the title “Growing into Happiness,” and will hold exhibitions at The Geoje Art Center(Geoje, 2024) and Gallery Now (Seoul, 2024). She has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Chung Art Gallery(Seoul, 2023), Ulsan International Art Fair Special Exhibition 《Symbols》 (Ulsan, 2023), and Art Sohyang (Busan, 2021). The artworks are held in the collections of institutions and private collections, including the Museum department of the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Training center of the Korean Textbook Association.
